Apparently, someone believes tigers and gas stations don’t mix. A judge in the East Baton Rouge District Court granted a permanent injunction against the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, which will prevent the department from renewing the permit that allows Tony’s current owner to display him. When the current permit expires in December, Tony will be free to be moved to an appropriate sanctuary where he can live out his life as close to his nature and as far away as possible from diesel fumes. But why wait? Tony’s owner should relinquish him immediately, so Tony can start his new life with nary a look back at his truck stop days.
